Day Student Admissions Criteria

Day students are able to attend The Hope School Learning Center for educational services but still live at home, rather than utilizing the residential services at Hope.  Below are the criteria for a student’s admission into the Day Student Program:

The youth’s primary disability, as listed on the educational records, must be one of the  following:

  • mental retardation
  • vision impairment
  • hearing impairment
  • speech/language impairment
  • other health impairment
  • multiple disabilities
  • Autism
  • traumatic brain injury

Placement is made according to the reauthorization of IDEA ‘97 to guarantee the youth receives a free and appropriate education in the least restrictive environment.

Services are offered to all children without regard to race, national origin, age, sex or disability.
