The Hope Institute Learning Academy (HILA) is an innovative elementary school on Chicago’s near west side, providing choice, challenge and excellence to its students through a best practice approach.
The school opened in 2009 and has expanded to a K-5 school; with plans to include additional grades over the next several years. HILA offers parents and families a choice of an exceptional public education in a school that values, celebrates, and supports students to reach their optimum level of success. HILA was developed as a general education school where children of all abilities, learning styles and socioeconomic backgrounds will be educated in an inclusive and supportive environment.

Our vision is that HILA will become a model of responsible inclusion practices, and will be used to train and prepare educators and professionals across the Chicago Public School system.
